Erosion and Sediment Control
The Urban staff members at the Butler SWCD are:
- Doug Dirksing, Urban Specilaist
- Jeremy Fruth, Urban Technician
- Matt Homan, Urban Inspector
The urban team address private property issues such as sediment pollution and erosion control, drainage problems, and pond/basin management. They also administer the Butler County erosion and sediment control (ESC) standards keeping up-to-date with federal and state requirements for the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Construction General Permit and protect our natural resources during all phases of development.
In addition to this, the staff work on many additional projects such as:
- The Beckett Ridge Water Quality Basin which a concrete channeled detention basin was restored to a storm water wetland.
- Stream bank restoration in West Chester Township
