The World Beneath Your Feet:
Soil and Water Educational Trailer
Butler Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), with the help of the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, has designed and renovated a 35 foot trailer into an impressive educational exhibit, showing soil and water. This trailer, named ‘The World Beneath Your Feet’ has interactive question and answer tools, as well as drawers you can pull out to see fossils and aquatic creatures. It also highlights storm drains, drainage tile, plant roots and an aquifer.
This educational trailer was made possible through grants received through the Ohio Environmental Education Fund (OEEF) and Butler Rural Electric Community Connections, with artwork done by the Cincinnati Museum Center.
Butler SWCD is proud to be able to have the opportunity to share this great project, to educate both children and adults through this educational display.

1. Rental fee of $50 per day, for every day in possession, paid in advance
2. $250 security deposit—paid in advance.
3. Liability Insurance responsibility of Butler SWCD.
4. Damage/theft policy has $0 deductible (Minor damages will be taken out of security deposit).
5. Moving display is renter’s responsibility. Hauling liability shall be covered under renter’s ‘tower’s insurance’ on the vehicle hauling trailer. Copy of insurance must be submitted with agreement. A minimum 3/4 ton vehicle with bumper hitch and light/trailer brakes hook-up is required. The tandem axle trailer has towing length of 35 ft.
6. Butler SWCD may deliver display at current mileage rate, plus $30 per hour for employee expense. (Includes delivery, set up and tear down, & return).
7. Display Trailer must be set up by Butler SWCD requirements and manned at all times during display hours. Must be in secured/locked area during off-hours.
