Rain Barrels and Compost Bins
Butler SWCD sells rain barrels and compost bins to local residents at cost. We can only accept cash or check, no credit cards. rain barrels and compost bins must be picked up from the office at 1802 Princeton Road, Hamilton, OH 45011. We will not ship these items.
Rain barrels
We sell rain barrels in collaboration with the Butler County Storm Water District. This year's rain barrels are the Agua Rain Barrel from Algreen. These typically sell for $100-130, but through the storm water district we can offer them for $65. This is $10 cheaper than last year!
Compost bins
We sell the Earth Machine composters. These typically retail for $100 and we sell them for $60. These are not tumbling/turning composters. After researching several brands of tumbling bins, we decided to go with the a tradtional bin due to cost and/or construction of thr bin. If you do decide to purchase a tumbling composter online or at a store, please read reviews. Several models of tumbling bins appear to have issues with the tumblin mechanism or where the barrel is attached to the stand.
To Purchase an Item
Please visit us at Butler SWCD, 1802 Princeton Road, in Hamilton during our opening hours- traidtionally 8 am until 4:40 pm, Monday - Friday. The compost bins are in 2 halves and so fit inside most vehicles. Typically we can fit the rain barrels in a seat, if it does not fit the trunk of your vehicle. Please remember, we cannot proces credit cards, but wil happily accept a check or cash.
