Tree Sale Information

Our supplier for Ohio Buckeyes has just informed us that they cannot fill our order, so Ohio Buckeyes will not be available in this year's sale.
The Butler SWCD is now taking orders for trees which homeowners can use for windbreaks, wildlife habitat, reforestation efforts, and aesthetic purposes.
In general the saplings are two to four years old, and average 18-24 inches in height. Our largest packet is about the size of a grocery bag. We have compiled a list of more information about each tree species, including photgraphs.
Orders can be made by printing out an order form (see below) and sending it in with your check, payable to Butler SWCD. The order deadline is March 28, 2008.
The distribution day will be held at the Butler County Fairgrounds, in the Farm Zone Building, April 24-25, 2008. See map below for directions. A postcard will be sent to you as a reminder to pick up your order.
A limited number of bluebird boxes and wildflower seed packets will be available. Bluebirds start looking for nest sites early in the year, and now you can help them out by purchasing a new home for them.
As in past years, we can neither alter the contents of packet upon request, nor deliver them to your home. If conditions exist beyond our control, we also reserve the right to substitute species in the packets. The plants are nursery inspected to be disease free. The Butler SWCD cannot be responsible for their survival after they have been picked up by the customer. Any orders left five days after the pick-up date will be donated to another organization, and no refunds will be granted.

Please remember that this sale is for bare rooted tree seedlings, not full grown trees. The seedlings are typically from 18 inches to 3 foot depending upon the species and the availability.
