What is PUP
The Pick Up Poop (PUP) campaign encourages residents who own dogs to pick up after their pet in order to keep our rivers and streams clean while also promoting a healthy community.
Let's face it - picking up after your dog is the right thing to "doo" and it can help keep our water clean in Butler County. So, let's all PUP (Pick Up Poop) and take the pledge below.
Pick Up Poop

Healthy Environment
Dog poop is filled with bacteria, especially E.coli. When it rains, all the bacteria can wash into nearby rivers and streams, polluting our waterways. This can result in harmful diseases to humans and problems for fish and wildlife

By the Numbers
Butler County is home to about 75,000 dogs, creating an average 0.75 pounds of waste per day. That totals to almost 29 tons of dog poop a day polluting our rivers and streams when it rains.

Bag it Up
When taking your dog on walks, be sure to bag up their poop. The same goes for at home - make sure you pick up after your dog in your own backyard to keep your family healthy

I pledge to pick up my pet's waste in order to keep our water clean.
