Annual Meeting
Come join Butler SWCD for a fun evening outdoor fun including fishing, archery, and a scavenger hunt. Enjoy hamburgers and hotdogs, sides, and most importantly - s'mores! Plus we will be celebrating our conservation award winners. This event is free, but you must RSVP by August 1. Adventure awaits!

Regenerative Ag Field Day
Formerly known as the Cover Crop Field Day, this event has been re branded and expanded to include the co hosts Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren Soil and Water Conservation District. This year we are bringing in speakers and panelists from across the state of Ohio to share exciting information about the world of regenerative ag. Our keynote speaker is going to be Kent Sonneberg, Owner of Sun Mountain Dairy. Kent raises forages to sustain the needs of his 5000 head dairy farm while balancing cover crops and precision nutrient management. Kent was honored as Ohio Master Farmer of the year in 2024. Big Tree Contest 2025
Butler SWCD is excited to announce our first Big Tree Contest! Participants can nominate native Red or White Oak species for the chance to win the title of 'Biggest Red Oak' or 'Biggest White Oak' of Butler County.

​Registration: Registration is requested for this FREE series, to assist us with providing resources.
July 14: Garden Tour, focusing on urban issues for native plants
At the Miami Hamilton Campus Conservatory, 6:00 PM

Tour the gardens around the conservatory. If you arrive early, you can also visit inside the conservatory.

Learn about urban issues, such as road salt, that can be a hindrance to native plants.
September 29: Pawpaw Picnic
Oxford Township, 6:00 PM

BEST Volunteer Events
​Be one of the BEST and join Butler SWCD's Butler Environmental Stewardship Team at one of our volunteer events throughout the year. We hold river cleanups, invasive plant removals, hold BioBlitzes, package milkweed seeds, and more. For a full list of this years projects, please visit our volunteer page.

Registration is requested to help with supplies and to send info if an event is canceled due to weather. Events are also posted about a month prior on Miami and UC community service website if you are a student needing to document hours.
