Conserving our Natural Resources

Milkweed Seed Pod Collection

Please only collect ripe seed pods

Drop the seed pods off at : Butler SWCD, 1802 Princeton Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011.

When: Anytime between 8 am and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  For pod collection stations in other counties, check with your local SWCD. 

What: We are collecting Common Milkweed seed pods for the Ohio Pollinator Habitat Initiative for roadside projects. We will also collect other milkweed varieties for sharing with the local community. Please mark the bag clearly, so we know which type you are dropping off.

2022 Garden Series: Backyard Wildlife

November 7 from 7 - 9 pm

In-person at Hamilton Ecological Education and Nature Center located next to Wake Nation in Joyce Park. Maps often take you to the wrong address in Joyce Park, the nature center has a huge greenhouse next to it. 101 Joe Nuxhall Way, Hamilton, OH 45015.

Please Register  By registering, we can let you now if the program has to be canceled for unforeseen circumstances, send you a reminder, etc. We also have limited space as we had to move the program from the OSU/Butler SWCD building as the Board of Elections needed more space for the upcoming election Register Here  or call OSU Extension at 513-887-3722.

COVID 19

The health and safety of our staff and community members is a top priority for us. Due to the Coronavirus, we are taking precautions to prevent the spread of this illness. However, we are still committed to assisting our county residents. The following changes are being implemented (until further notice):

  • Our office is now open to walk-in visitors for SWCD and NRCS assistance. Appointments are appreciated.

2022 Butler SWCD Board of Supervisors meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 pm. Unless otherwise noted below. 

Meetings are held at Butler SWCD, 1802 Princeton Rd, Hamilton OH 45011.
