Pollinator Fest

Come spend the day with Butler SWCD while we celebrate pollinators and all the benefits they bring to our world. Our lives depend on them! Tours of our 8 acre pollinator site, honey and native plant vendors, educational sessions, food trucks, and much more.

At the Cincinnati Zoo

  • Informative breakout sessions

  • Over 35 Environmental organizations in the exhibit hall.

  • Special animal appearance


Who? This event is free to educators, including, but not limited to,  formal classroom teachers, home-school educators, and non-formal educators such as naturalists.

Milkweed Pod Collection 

September 1 - November 12

Location: 1802 Princeton Rd, Hamilton 45011

 

Butler SWCD is the local drop-off site for milkweed seed pods used for the Ohio Pollinator Habitat Initiative. This is a nonprofit organization working to improve and create habitat in the state of Ohio. 

​

Drop-Off:

There will be a green labeled garbage can in the hallway of our building. The building is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. 

​

Please:

  1. Only collect milkweed pods from property you have permission to collect from

  2. Collect seed pods when ripe (grey or brown)

  3. Use a paper bag or net for seed pods

  4. Write date & township/city where collected on bag

  5. If you collect a variety of milkweed other than common, place in separate bag and label it

 

If you cannot make it during normal drop-off days email Lynn White at whitelr@butlercountyohio.org to set up another time.

Growing Up Wild

Earn credit though OCCRRA and receive many classroom resources during this hands-on workshop
