Invasive Plant Removal, Beckett Ridge Water Quality Basin / Wetland

Thursday, May 13, 5 - 7:30 pm

In May, we will be removing invasive plants such as pear trees, narrow leafed cattails, and teasle from a wetland basin. Last year, we made massive inroads removing some of the willow trees that were taking over.

Monitor Stream Habitat Training, Indian Creek Preserve, Reily Twp

Saturday, May 15, 9 am 

Citizens Qualitative Habitat Assessment Index (cQHEI) is a visual assessment of creek habitat. It looks at the river bottom, tree cover, fallen logs, and other habitat components.  After attending this class, volunteers can go out on their own to collect habitat data on other streams around the county.

Poster Contest:
Healthy Forests - Healthy Communities

Each year, Butler SWCD works with local young artists to create posters focusing on a conservation message. This year's theme is “Healthy Forests = Healthy Communities"

2021 Butler SWCD Board of Supervisors meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 pm. Unless otherwise noted.

Meetings are held at Butler SWCD, 1802 Princeton Rd, Hamilton OH 45011.
